The Arc Southeast Mississippi is excited to introduce a new program, The Arc Freedom Riders! The new addition to our programming will allow individuals with disabilities an opportunity to experience running events in the community as well as building an awareness to our individuals with disabilities. Your commitment to helping The Arc in our community is sincerely appreciated. Through our programs, The Arc promotes and encourages the acceptance of those with disabilities, exposure to and interaction with the community. Pistorius wrote “You're not disabled by the disabilities you have, you are able by the abilities you have.” We choose everyday to live the life we were given and live it to our fullest potential! These Freedom Chairs will be a tool to create a whole new realm of possibilities for individuals with disabilities being able to experience a run/race that they never would have been afforded the opportunity otherwise!
